I like my drum samples to trigger from midi so I can accurately trigger the velocity of each hit without having to worry about mis-triggers from toms or other drums.
This is how I get my midi from Slate Trigger so I can easily setup samples in my track with a little bit of help from Reaper’s midi in-line editor to clean up any mis-triggers.
I know there are many different ways to do this. I also use Superior Drummer which I’ll show in a different video. Reaper even has some free tools which can achieve audio-to-midi but these tools are easier for me.
How do YOU do it?
